Curriculum

Data Analytics & SQL Fundamentals Curriculum

9 AM – 2 PM. 2 days total.

  1. Day 1

    SQL Foundations

Build SQL fluency from scratch — SELECT, WHERE, ORDER BY, GROUP BY, HAVING, and aggregates. Cover the four join types, then close with ten analytical queries on a real business dataset.

  2. Day 2

    Analytical SQL

Move into analytical SQL — subqueries, CTEs, and window functions for ranking and period-over-period analysis. Build a personal query bank tailored to your company's tables, piped into Excel or Power BI.

Audience

Who This Is For

Business and BI analysts running heavy Excel pivots. Finance and ops leads pulling data from engineering. Reporting and dashboard owners querying the source of truth.

FAQ

Frequently Asked

Do I need a technical background?

No coding or database background required. You should be fluent with spreadsheets (pivots, lookups, basic formulas). Instructors guide you through every query.

What tools will I use?

SQLite Online (browser-based, no install), the Northwind sample database, and a spreadsheet tool (Excel or similar) for export. Bring a laptop.

What do I leave with?

A personal query bank of analytical SQL written against your own business context, a SQL pattern reference annotated with your own table and column names, and a live SQL-to-Excel/Power BI pipeline plugged into your existing reporting.

Where is the workshop held?

In person at CODED Academy in Kuwait. Daily sessions run 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM with breaks.

Can we customize the workshop for our industry?

Yes. For private cohorts, we tailor the briefs, scenarios, and examples to your industry — retail, banking, real estate, F&B, government, or any other sector. The tools and methodology stay the same; the content and use cases adapt to your business.

What happens after the workshop?

Every participant leaves with the artefacts, templates, and workflows they built during the workshop. These are designed to be self-sustaining with no ongoing dependency on CODED. For teams that want continued support, we offer follow-up sessions and advanced modules.

Can we run this privately for our team?

Yes. We offer private cohorts for companies with 8 or more participants. Contact [email protected] for scheduling and group pricing.

How is this different from a generic AI workshop?

This is not an overview of AI tools. Participants do not watch demos and leave with notes — they build real, working artefacts using their own data and their own briefs. Every output is reusable and tailored to their company.

Ready to enroll your team?

Send us the headcount. We'll come back with seat confirmation, the next available cohort, and the invoice.
